How it works

From your first like to your first date

You+Love is built around events: evenings of short calls with people you matched with beforehand. Here’s the whole journey.

  1. 1

    Create your profile

Show who you are, and choose who you’d like to meet.

    • Add 4 to 6 photos, a few prompts, and the basics.
    • Choose who you’d like to meet, where you live, and up to 4 more places you’d like to date.
    • Send a selfie and a photo of a government ID. Our team reviews them.
    • You+Love is for adults 18 and over.
  2. 2

    Register for an event

Events are evenings of calls in the app, each tied to a city near you.

    • The Events tab shows events near the places you chose, up to two months ahead.
    • Every event shows its price before you register. Registration closes 3 days before the start.
    • Plans change? Cancel until the event starts. Before your schedule is set, what you paid comes back as credit.
  3. 3

    Like the people going

Before the event, see who’s registered and choose who you’d like to meet.

    • Discover shows people going to your event who fit what you’re looking for, and who are looking for someone like you.
    • Like or pass. When someone likes you back, you’re a match. Mark the matches you most want to talk to as a priority.
    • Matching closes at 11:59 PM the night before the event.
    • Confirm you’re coming when the app asks, from 3 days before. Only confirmed guests get calls.
  4. 4

    Talk on event night

Your calls open one after another, each with one of your matches.

    • The Join button appears 5 minutes before the start, and the app counts down to your first call.
    • Each Connection-Layered Call™ lasts 7 minutes: 5 of voice, then 2 of video. Either of you can choose to stay on voice.
    • Up to 10 calls, with a minute between them. The whole event runs about two hours.
    • If a match doesn’t join within a minute, you move on to your next call automatically.
  5. 5

    Answer after each call

A minute between calls to say how it went.

    • How did it go? Choose not interested, a longer call next, or a date next.
    • Then a Safety & Respect check: did you feel disrespected, and did anything make you feel unsafe? If something made you feel unsafe, the match ends.
    • A next step happens only when you both want one. If one of you would like a longer call first, you start with an Extra Call.
    • After your last call, two closing questions: a special connection tonight? Someone else with potential? If you picked each other, you get one more call.
  6. 6

    Plan what’s next

After the event, your matches move to Ongoing, ready for next steps.

    • Book from your match’s open times: a 7-minute Connection-Layered Call™, an Extra Call of 15 minutes to 2 hours, or a date.
    • Add your own open times in My Calendar so your matches can book you.
    • Booking a date at a time with no place set? You choose one, with your match’s first-date preferences in view.
    • Message any of your matches while you plan.

Between events, keep connecting

While your membership is active, the App view in Discover shows members near you any time. Like, match, and book a call there too.
