This policy explains what information You+Love collects when you use our app and this website, how we use it, who can see it, and the choices you have. You+Love is run by You+ LLC (“we” or “us”).
The short version
- We use your information to run events, matches, calls, and safety features.
- Other members see your profile, never your phone number, email address, ID, or verification selfie.
- Calls aren’t recorded.
- We don’t sell your information or use it for targeted advertising.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time.
Information you give us
- Account details: your phone number, email address, first name, and birth date (to confirm you’re 18 or older).
- Who you’d like to meet: your gender, the genders you’re interested in, and your dating preferences.
- Your profile: your photos and prompts, and details you choose to add, like your job, height, children, lifestyle, religion, politics, and relationship goals.
- Verification: a selfie and a photo of a government ID, which a person on our team reviews. We don’t use facial recognition.
- Places: the cities or areas you choose, which we look up on a map to find people and events near you. The app doesn’t use your phone’s location services.
- Your plans: the times you make available, your requests and bookings, and the places you choose for dates.
- What you do in the app: your likes and passes, messages with your matches, your answers after calls and at the end of events, and reports and blocks you make.
- Payments: Stripe processes your card. We keep Stripe’s reference to your saved card, never the card number, along with records of what you paid and your credits.
- Support requests: what you send us, including screenshots, your reply email, and a callback number if you leave one.
- Early-access sign-ups on this website: your first name, email address, city or area, how you heard about us, and your choices about our emails.
- Tickets bought elsewhere: if you bought a You+Love ticket on Eventbrite, we use the phone number on the ticket to match it to your account.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app details: your device model, operating system, app version, and a notification token, so the app works on your phone and can send you notifications.
- Crash reports: when the app hits an error, a report goes to Sentry so we can fix it. We strip personal details from these reports before they’re sent.
- How you use the app: for example, which screens and features you open, so we can improve them.
- How you found us: the ad, link, or referral code that brought you to You+Love. On Android, Google Play tells the app which link led to the install. We don’t use advertising IDs.
- Calls: calls connect through Agora, which handles technical details like your IP address and connection quality. Calls aren’t recorded.
- This website: Cloudflare hosts it and keeps security logs, such as IP addresses. If you arrive from a campaign link, your browser remembers that link for your visit. The site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

What other members see
- Your profile: your first name, age, photos, prompts, and the details you add. Your gender shows only if you choose to show it.
- After 10 or more call partners have answered the Safety & Respect check, the share who didn’t feel disrespected or unsafe.

Other members never see your phone number, email address, birth date, ID, verification selfie, or your own Safety & Respect answers.

We share your information only as described here.

- Other members, as described above.
- For safety and the law. When we believe in good faith it’s needed to follow the law or a valid legal request, protect someone’s safety, or stop fraud or abuse. As US law requires, we report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
- If our business changes hands. In a merger, sale, or similar deal, your information may move to the new owner, and this policy keeps applying to it.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.
Sensitive information
Some details can be sensitive: your religion and politics, the genders you’re interested in (which can show your sexual orientation), and your ID and selfie. We use them only to run You+Love as described here: to show your profile, find your matches, and check that you’re who you say you are. Religion and politics are optional, and you can change them at any time.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile and dating preferences in the app at any time.
- Pause your profile to hide from new people in Discover.
- Turn notifications off in your phone’s settings.
- Unsubscribe from news and offers at any time.
- Delete your account in the app. Our Delete your account page explains what’s removed.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to limit how we use sensitive information. To make a request, email support@youplus.company. Someone you authorize can also ask for you. We’ll confirm the request is yours before acting on it, and we won’t treat you differently for using your rights. If we turn down a request, reply to our answer and we’ll take another look.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, plans, and the selfie and ID photo from your ID check are removed right away. We keep whether your ID check passed and when, and some records for safety, billing, and legal reasons, and our Delete your account page lists them.
When someone reports a photo, prompt answer, or message, we keep a copy of it with the report. Calls aren’t recorded, so a report about a call keeps only when the call happened and what the member who reported it tells us. If we suspend or remove an account, we keep its phone number and email address so they can’t be used for a new account: until the suspension ends, or for 5 years after a removal.
We keep early-access sign-ups until you ask us to remove them or we no longer need them. How long we keep each kind of record will be listed here before launch. To be confirmed
Security
We protect your information with safeguards like encryption in transit and limits on who can see it. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your sign-in codes to yourself, and tell us right away if you think someone got into your account.
Adults only
You+Love is for adults 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn someone under 18 has an account, we remove it. If you think a minor is using You+Love, email support@youplus.company. Our Child Safety Standards explain more.
Where we keep information
We’re based in the United States and keep your information there. Some of the companies listed above may handle it in other countries.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your information, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
