Safety

Safety and respect, built in

From signup to your first date, You+Love is designed so you can meet new people with confidence.

How the app looks out for you

Every member agrees to our Community Guidelines, and our team enforces them.

Selfie and ID check

Signup asks for a selfie and a photo of a government ID, and our team reviews them.

Adults only

Everyone must be 18 or older, and you only ever see people 18 and over.

Voice first

Every call starts with 5 minutes of voice. Video opens for the last 2, and either of you can choose to stay on voice.

Private by design

Calls happen in the app and aren’t recorded. Nobody sees your phone number or email.

A check-in after every call

Did you feel disrespected? Did anything make you feel unsafe? If something made you feel unsafe, the match ends, your plans with them are canceled, and our team takes a look. After 10 answers, a profile shows the share of call partners who didn’t feel disrespected or unsafe.

Report and block

Report or block anyone from their profile, during a call, or in your chat. Once you block someone, you won’t see each other in Discover or Matches, and the calls and dates you had planned are canceled.

Pause anytime

Need a break? Pause your account to hide your profile from new people.

Photo guidelines

Recent, clear photos, and no nudity or explicit content. Location details are removed from the photos you upload.

Reporting

How to report someone

Our team reviews reports within 24 hours, and urgent ones first. We don’t tell anyone who reported them. If you’re ever in danger, call 911 first.

  1. Tap the flag by their name, or ••• at the top right of your match.
  2. Choose Report, Block, or Report and Block.
  3. Pick a reason, add any details, and send.

To report a single photo, prompt answer, or message, hold it. During a call, reporting or blocking from the flag ends the call. After a call, use the Report or Block link under the questions.
